Kittens are renowned for their mischievous antics! Whether it's playing with your hair or launching themselves at your feet, they all have their little quirks which amuse us, which is why we love them so much!

But sadly some kittens aren't lucky enough to have a safe and loving home. Cats Protection, the UK's leading feline charity, is inundated with kittens and cats, all needing someone to care for them.

FELIX Kitten Factor, a competition to find Britain's most mischievous kitten, aims to help Cats Protection look after those cheeky little rascals! For every entry received, we'll be donating £1 to the charity. The money raised will go towards a much-needed incubation unit in the Nottingham Adoption Centre.

TV actress and Strictly Come Dancing star Ali Bastian is launching the FELIX Kitten Factor for 2010. It's a campaign that is close to her heart as she grew up with rehomed cats. “I have two 18 month old British shorthairs Nala and Brutas, and I really have my hands full! Particularly with Nala, who tends to get herself in all sorts of precarious situations. She recently climbed on to the roof, and I had no idea until Brutas came to find me. He climbed all over me until I realised something must be up and went to her rescue. They now have this system firmly in place where she gets in to mischief and he comes to raise the alarm! I’m sure many of the entries to the Felix Kitten Factor will tell a similar tale, and help to raise money for a fantastic charity at the same time.”

Janet Wickens, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Cats Protection, adds, "22 per cent of households have a cat, making them one of the most popular pet in the UK. Even so, at any one time, Cats Protection is looking after 6,500 cats and kittens that are desperate to find a loving new home. Each animal in our care is assured of the correct care, food and medical treatment, but of course this all costs money and every pound counts! The money that we will receive from FELIX Kitten Factor is absolutely invaluable and we’ll be using it to help fund an exciting new project; to build the first ever Cats Protection Homing Centre in Ferndown, Dorset."
